My grandmother's name was Emma Ault and she was born in Trieste, Austria between 1855-1870. I believe Ault is an Austrian name, but this site says it is from England. Emma does sound more English than German so maybe her family immigrated to Austria from England. I wish I knew

My maiden name is Ault also. I think it was probably changed from Alt to Ault when the family immigrated. I was always told they were from Germany.
