I have visited the beautiful township of Zamora, Spain. The people there are as friendly and interesting as any place I've been. Interestingly enough one of very old surname spelling was Samara where Zamora came from. They also pronounced the "Z" as "Th." When they saw my passport, they immediately became family. We talked and talked with all the locals. I definitely want to go again for more than just a few days. BTW the Food and Famous Tinto wine are just as awesome! A definite destination for any Zamora. My Lineage also comes from the New Mexico Zamoras.
my mom last name is zamora and there really isnt alot of us out there. i wonder if they are my ancestors?
Me and my dad's last name is Zamora, I used to think I was the only one with that last name.
Proud to be a Zamora :)
My mother and father died young, before I was 19 y.o. My mother was a Zamora, and I had relatives - Lee and Vicki Zamora in Pueblo, CO. I know very little about this side of my family, my mother being an only child. Any info anyone can provide would be appreciated.
Most of my family lived in Lincoln, New Mexico. Anybody else? I have visited with my dad and there is a Zamora family cemetery.
My grandfather was from New Mexico. He had 3 brothers. I believe they lived in Vaughn, NM. I've always felt that my ancestry was confusing - people always asking me why I didn't speak Spanish and if I was Mexican. Recently I did 23andme and it has recently opened a door to the rich history of the Zamora's of New Mexico. I can't wait to learn more. (I was born and raised in Los Angeles BTW)
